REACH Inquiry **

The course is aimed at providing an understanding of the REACH Inquiry process. Every potential registrant of a non-phase-in substance (or a phase-in substance which has not been pre-registered), must inquire to ECHA as to whether a registration has already been submitted for the same substance. Similarly, a company is obliged to inform ECHA of the additional information that they would require for an update of a registration due to a tonnage band increase. The course will provide an in-depth illustration of the various steps required for the preparation of an inquiry dossier, with emphasis on the regulatory aspects and on the key element of the dossier: the analytical characterisation of the substance. The course is delivered by renowned REACH experts with considerable experience in the preparation of inquiry dossiers and in the conduction of analytical strategies. ** 8th March FULLY BOOKED - please enquire for future dates.

Virtual Classroom: Ensuring SDS Compliance Within Your Supply Chain

The provision of a Safety Data Sheet (SDS) is a legal requirement for all substances and mixtures meeting the criteria for classification under REACH and CLP. SDSs are an effective and well established method of conveying hazards and providing information on the safe use and mitigation of risks. This webinar will guide you through the structure of an SDS, highlighting new requirements and enabling you to assess whether the SDS you distribute or receive from your suppliers are up-to-date and compliant with the Regulations. Details for access to the webinar will be emailed 1 week in advance of the event to all participants. The presentation will last 1 hour and questions will be taken for 15 minutes at the end. Introduction to the Transport of Dangerous Goods

The requirements for deciding whether goods (chemical substances or mixtures or articles) are to be considered dangerous for transport, and then packaged, labelled, marked, and documented are very complex. The course will provide an introduction to the requirements for transport by sea and road in Europe.  Their requirements have been in force for many years, but are subject to frequent changes.   There are significant changes due in 2011, including some to the special provisions for packaging and marking of dangerous goods packed in limited quantity packages, and these will be highlighted. The course is presented by Desmond Waight.  Desmond is a member of the relevant UK Government Advisory groups dealing with the development of these sea and road provisions and also with the UN GHS and UN Model Regulations on the transport of dangerous goods on which the sea and road provisions are based. During the day you will have the opportunity to interact with other delegates and the presenter, and discuss issues surrounding the Transport requirements and how they may reflect, or differ, from the CLP regulation and how to plan for and implement the requirements within your company.
